Los Padres Council is seeking a capable, service-minded Camp Ranger to oversee the year-round care, readiness, and safe operation of Camp Rancho Alegre. This hands-on role combines facilities project management, preventive maintenance and repairs, and support for camp program areas. The Camp Ranger works independently while coordinating contractors, volunteers, seasonal staff, and council leadership to keep the property safe, welcoming, compliant, and ready for campers and guests.

The regular schedule is generally established in advance but may flex for group use, special events, seasonal programs, projects, or facility emergencies. Limited on-call duties are shared with camping leadership.
All councils are equal opportunity employers and offer benefits to include medical, prescription coverage, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, accidental death, retirement plan, plus compensation for authorized and approved business-related expenses, including mileage reimbursement. We also offer on-site housing and a generous vacation policy and holiday observances.
Salary or Salary Range: Baseline pay of $25.00/hour, but we are highly open to discussing a higher rate for candidates with advanced experience or specialized skills.
